I agree, I've seen horses, including my own, that continued to grow just a
bit to six or seven. I have a four-and-a-half-year-old with Karen Chaton
right now who has shot up noticeably in the past month and that
theoretically isn't supposed to happen, at least not to that extent.
When he was younger, I used the percentages to "estimate" his mature height,
and it's actually pretty close, within an inch of where I think he'll end
up. I just don't think he'll get there at the age Cal Poly was predicting.
I suspect that because Cal Poly sorts and sells most of their youngstock by
age five, they just may not have kept measuring for another year or three.
Or, maybe the student that did it just needed to graduate, and hey presto,
end of study! <vbg>
