West Nile Virus
Here is something to ponder; the FEI singles driving championships in
Gladstone NJ were canceled this past month because of the West Nile Virus.
The European teams could not get a guarantee the area with in a fifty
kilometer radius would be free of contamination. Will the same thing happen
in Vermont next summer?
Tonight the US officials are stating that it looks as if this virus will
spread nation wide in a few years. Could this halt the use of US horses in
Europe? Could this halt the European competitors from competing on their own
horses in the US?
I believe that the AERC/FEI controversy could fade into oblivion if the
predictions are correct. There will be no International competition, it will
become strictly on continent.
