Re: Re: Tucker Saddles

Tucker Saddles are very heavy. The people that build them are not endurance
riders. If you have a horse with any width to his shoulders they will not
fit. The saddle has a terribly deep seat causing you to be tight up against
the cantle and not enabling you to post a trot without killing your back.
The stirrup straps are leather which puts a lot of torque on your knees and
ankles. The stirrup straps are set out in front too far not giving you a
balanced position. The saddle is ring rigged and when the cinch is tightened
it draws down too much on the rear of the saddle not allowing for the
movement of the horses loins causing the horse to become sore. The rings on
the rigging also will eat up your knees! Last of all, the last Tucker I
looked at for a customer just last weekend at an endurance ride, the bars of
the tree had too much twist in them causing the horse to be sore in the
middle of his back.
