Everyone should also keep in mind that frogs naturally slough off
periodically. So, if your horse suddenly seems to have lost its frog, don't
panic. In the wild, horses "pare" their frogs and soles by themselves. If
the horse is ouchy from having sole or frog pared by the farrier, try some
turpentine on it. It helps take the sting out. I know, I know. Sounds
like an old wives' tale. It works.
