A CDL (commercial drivers license) is only required when you are driving a rig over 26,000, OR, your vehicle has air brakes, OR you are hauling commercially, and any combination of
these. Just stating "not for hire" may look good, but you will notice some rigs say "not for hire"..which means they are hauling for themselves, but commercially. They still
require a CDL.
