There's a certain shopping mentality among people who live far enough away
from the sources of things that they don't go look themselves....that is, if
they can afford it. I think Tom is right. Same people probably buy 12 of a
particular shirt they like, one in every colour. The shotgun approach. Just
prior to and just after all three rides in Egypt, a certain FEI official was
examining and buying horses for his boss....who never came to look himself.
