Maggie,
    I've asked the same question to Susan.  After starting up this high fat 
thing, our horses started having low gut sounds at rides.  We quit using the 
oil and rice bran 3 days before putting them into the trailer to go to a 
ride.  Now the gut sounds are back to normal.
