Hi -

For durable, reflective clothing, you can buy nice bike vests and tights
that are luminescent, and they work just fine for riding your horse.  The
brand is Castelli Illuminite.  They look normal by day, but at night they
light up.

Unfortunately, I have found that just because people see you, it does not
mean that they will bother to use that pesky brake pedal.  Too much effort
for some people to have to press it, even for a moment. ;-)
