RE: Covering the S Hack nose piece
I've used my S Hackamore for 4 years without any nose cover. There hasn't
been any irritation or abrasion and I've been using it on an ex-racehorse
who initially was not responsive to much of anything. It helped turned him
into a completely manageable horse and was the only type of "bit" that would
work since he was trained accelerate against pressure from a regular bit. I
personally love the design - simple, lightweight, adequate control.
Every horse is different, yours might have a sensitive nose. Be aware that
initially the sheepskin covers can cause your horse to spook at normal
things - it's tall enough to block some of their vision.

Subject: RC: Covering the S Hack nose piece
I'm expecting my new Arabian S Hackamore in the mail any day now.
Several people have written that I will have to cover the nose piece
with sheepskin. Do any of you use this Hack just as it comes? If it
must be covered, why aren't they made that way in the first place? Or
offered as an option?
Thanks.
Amber
