In the Midwest the rides are usually small enough that there are only two
vets.  You usually have the same vet throughout the day, and definitely if
there is any question.

Another plus here is we have some very dedicated vets who do 5 or more rides
a year, so they often know your horse from not only the last ride, but also
from previous years.  This really helps.  You also know the vet and thus
trust their judgement and know how they phrase things.
