Back to the example of the Race of Champions...every year I went(always to
crew)...there was a GREAT turn out.. to achieve the qualifying criteria was
an achievement in itself---Then there were the different teams from the
different regions---it was GRAND!!! And the vets were always the very best
from all over the country... people came from all over---and the same ones
kept coming back year after year....the pomp and circumstance was always
exciting ...trying to get my horse qualified for the Race of Champions was
my main inspiration for doing 100 mile rides...There must be someone out
there willing to give up their life in order to become the ride manger of a
similar championship ride  :0]
