This is totally untrue. A tree that is wide enough with the proper pitch
will not roll on even a mutton withered horse. I build an extreme amount of
saddles for this type horse. I also own one and compete on him. He is like
sitting on a 55 gallon drum! With the bars of the tree down on each side of
his withers and with the proper angle there really is not much slippage at
all. I specialize in all these hard to fit guys. Very wide,very narrow and
steep pitched and higher rump down hill to the withers etc.
