Re: Easyboots bruising hooves
After looking at the bruises and thinking for a few days I think the cables
where they cross above the buckles have caused the bruises. The boots are cut
down in front as far as I can go and still leave some rubber for the cables
to rest on. The 2 horses that have been bruised both have short feet from
coronet to toe, so the boot still comes up to just below the soft part of the
hoof. Too close. So I may move the buckes lower (drill out old rivets and
rivet lower). The bottom of the buckle may have to be ground off too
depending on how close to the ground I put it. I haven't gotten the urge to
start this project yet, but I'll keep y'all posted.
