Without going to the JL extreme of actual physical punishment for 3 seconds,
one can still utilize the herd aggression method--yell at him and ATTACK by
charging his body and "biting" with your hands. Do NOT go for his head or
face--that will become a game. For a clue, watch broodmares together when a
baby gets mouthy with one who is not his mom. Retribution is IMMEDIATE, and
is a charge with bared teeth aimed at body or butt. You have to become that
alpha mare. Become "big" by being full front to the horse with your hands
out and up, be LOUD, and "swoop" in with a pecking "bite" with your hands.
