The "theory" behind magnets is that the increase blood
circulation. If you are looking a healing tissue with
a good blood supply, it might be worth a try to try to
increase blood flow to the area. It can't hurt.
If you are looking at tissue like cartilage & bone
with poor blood supply (relatively speaking) the
magnets probably won't do anything.
