Marlene, it might not be your riding that's the problem.   Try borrowing a few different saddles to try out.  You might be pleasantly surprised to find that suddenly like magic you can ride in the position you want to.  If that happens, it's your saddle & not you.  Every saddle has got to "put" the rider in a position, so some saddles just aren't going to work for some people - it's a question of differing anatomy.  You might want to rule out this possiblity before you try to force your body into a position that could take extra energy to maintain.  Over the miles that could wind up being a really big handicap.  Lif
