Hi Truman,  I remember we talked about it at the time...........think you
are lucky to have such a great horse (regardless of breed).  I also remember
talking to a guy who did Tevis a number of years on Walkers, he said the
same thing I had heard, that a lot are not surefooted, you have to be really
careful when selecting one.  He had a breeder in the Napa Valley where he
got his Walkers, and claimed they were very athletic and surefooted.

Boy, did we play around with foot angles on that mare. We ended up, over
time, standing her up so straight it wasn't funny.  And who knows, there
might have been something going on I didn't know
about............regardless; not worth putting $$$ into that horse, since I
ALWAYS worried after that she would fall down...........meanwhile, I still
had good old Ashley arab, that would go forever, shoes or no shoes, no foot
problems, smooth, and never fell down!
