Hi Bonnie
When I first learned to ride at Holdorffs Riding Academy in the Chicago
area we had to learn to tuck and roll to bail off our horses. This was
probably the most valuable thing I ever learned. The fact that we were
riding in forest preserves which were surrounded at the end of each
"block" by heavy traffic probably prompted the requirement--in case of
runaway horses.
We just picked our spot, tucked our heads and did a somersault, trying
to hit on the upper right or left side of our backs. Of course, it was
easier to learn that at six than it would be for me to do it for the
first time now that I'm older and value my life<BG>!
