Mohair girths

O.K. I've been given several places to call, and I'm ready to do so,
but.... You guys have informed me that I can expect them to REALLY
shrink, and that I can expect them to REALLY stretch.  :-/  So... what
the heck do I do?  Take a vote?  Also, apparently there are a few that
come with backing behind the buckles.  Should I try for that really? 
I'll be using it on an OF Express.  The flaps on it are very thick and
it's pretty hard to tighten a girth very high.
