How Steep?
While reading all the post about downhill stuff I'm coming up with some
questions.
The original post was a simple question about which was the best way to
route an endurance trail.
A lot of very complicated info has come out, probably muddied by my
reference to the "Snowy River" film. First, I mentioned those pics
because they are exceptional slow motion, close up shots of horses feet and
legs in action under stress. I sure wasn't aiming for lessons in either
equitation, dressage, or higher math. (But they have been interesting.)
In reading the many responses, it sounds as if some are responding with
information about going down the kind of gentle grade often found on many
rides, with decent footing, and hopefully, with a horse in hand, working
under himself, semi collected.
Others are going along using the steep hills and maybe tricky footing as
shown in the film pics. Obviously, each requires different info and
methods to survive, and the math is more interesting in the later.
I think it would be helpful to all of us if anyone responding would say
which scenerio they were addressing.
Maybe just a short post refering to the past info that might fit here in
order to clarify a point.
Thanks all
