Here in the Midwest where there is a CTR at each ride, conventional wisdom
is that a horse's pulse will be a bit higher at the 10 min CTR pulse check
if he is eating grass or hay. Some don't allow their horse to eat until
after the PR check, most (Wendy and I included) allow them to eat until
about 5 min before the scheduled time. This gives them time to get done
chewing etc. before the check. In UMECRAville no one seems to make a
distinction between grass and hay.
