saddle fit question

Hello All -

I think my horse got tooo fat for his saddle & I'm trying to do a spot
check.  I got a flexicurve, measured the saddle a teeny bit in front of the
pommel, measured horse 1" behind the shoulders (about where the saddle was
measured at).  Should the angles of the traces fit together exactly (leaving
2-3" of space over the pommel)?  I'd guess so, but I'd love to hear the
proper way to intepret these silly pieces of paper.  It's work to feel this
horse's ribs, but he doesn't have a big belly - yet anyway.

Guess I'll just throw the traces in the horse's files and measure them twice
a year...  Will be interesting to see how they change over time.
