Re: trail safety: cats, etc
Does anyone have any really good advice about how to behave (for survival)
when confronted with a lion?
I've been told that making loud noises really is pretty exciting to cats,
and they will have a much better time eating you if you scream and yell.
(Not from a scientific, scholarly source. From a blonde who thinks she's a
Rhodes scholar, but ain't.)
I have been worried about lions since seeing a couple last spring. I'm
pretty sure my mare, myself and my dog are all in big trouble. How would
you even carry a weapon that would be at the ready when a lion jumps on
your horse's neck out of nowhere?
Karma? Prayer? Stay home? Move to the city? (naaaah. - rather get eaten
by a lion)
No wonder my Arab mare is spooky. She's no dummy. Maybe that ear pinning,
head shaking, kicky attitude could come in handy.
