    Hmm.  Not so sure about this.  We have imported several 
    horses from Poland who have raced and have had a hell of a job settling them 
    for endurance.
     
    Our Polish stallion, Samarang, was top racehorse of his age in 1991, 
    the year we bought him.  He won 11 times.  He did five seasons 
    endurance but NEVER got to understand why he couldn't go flat out from start 
    to finish, and why other horses were allowed to pass him!
     
    His oldest progeny are due to start in endurance this season so 
    hopefully the qualities that we were unable to exploit to the full because 
    of his early upbringing will be passed on to them.
     
    The biggest problem with ex-racehorses is mass starts.  Complete 
    nightmare.
