Just to play the devil's advocate here, how does the water coming off the
horse get into the water trough unless the horse is standing in the
trough? I guess if by "tank" you mean what a lot of
people call "pond" (although I really am learning to call a
cattle water pond a tank), then it's possible. But earlier in this
e-conversation, the discussion was about water that's trucked in, in
troughs. That water won't get contaminated by scoops, but could by
sponges.
I have found that if a bunch of horses go into a tank (pond) the water is
so muddy you could never tell if every single rider in the race has
rinsed their sponges, their horse blankets & all their dirty
socks in it, anyway. Lif
