This used to be the advice of the tire experts at Les Schwab, but in recent
years (and with improvements in radials, and production of radials meant for
hauling loads instead of for cars) they are now advising radials. As another
poster said, the important thing is that you get tires that are rated to do
the job you are requiring them to do.
