Annette,
They probably figured it would be nice for both
you and the horse to really relax for the rest
of the hold not having to go back for the vet
check - or they were expecting a crowd of riders
to come in soon and wanted to let the vets get
all the horses they could before the crowd. Its
been my experience that vets vary on when they
like to see the horses. Some would prefer to
see all horses as soon as they p/r, others would
like all horses to wait a half hour and sometimes
they need to see horses when they are free to
avoid hold-ups.
