egg bar shoes
I would like to hear your opinions about egg bar shoes for distance horses.
Nancy Loving wrote in the Ja./Feb. 1995 issue of Trail Blazer: " egg bars
increase the surface area for weight distribution as the horse loads the
limb, ... the larger the surface area that the foot contacts with the ground,
the better the energy of impact is diffused through the entire foot and on up
the limb, ... Egg bar shoes give the rear end the needed stability each time
the horse plants its legs. The ankles won't twist as readily as they would
without the support, and the hocks experience less twisting forces with hind
feet shod with egg-bars." Sounds like it would be well worth the extra money
to save a horse.
