RC: Re: Possums
We have a Great Pyrenees. He guards our chickens and our domestic rabbits
that are running loose. We have lots of coyotes, possums, foxes and other
critters around here but have been able to keep most of the chickens and
rabbits. It is great looking out and seeing this big ol' white dog lying in
the yard and white rabbits and chickens walking all around him.
Some of the goat farmers around here like the Anatolian-Great Pyrenees
crosses for their shepherding job.
Did have Chows before. One night our 2 chows cornered a possum. We heard the
barking and growling so went out to see what was happening. The dogs had
cornered the possum. All were growling and hissing. When we moved closer the
dogs decided it was time to end the show. They killed that possum in about 2
seconds flat! It was amazing. Then just walked away as if nothing had ever
happened.
