Who would poison a cat?

Fraid not. I had a great Australian Shephers who was a fantastic ratter,
but occassionally decided to eat her catch, so I never put out poison,
and the barn wasn't near enough to anyone else. Besides, I've had a dog
poisoned before, he was very thirsty, and it was painful. You can tell
when you find an animal that died in pain. These two were perfectly
peaceful. The really freaky one was the "frozen kitten" (not really, no
cold weather). She was just crouched, with her eyes wide open. When they
said in books that a Cobra could frighten a birth to death, that's how
this kitten looked, like she just froze in her tracks.
Are there any reasons *not* to give a rabies vaccine to your horse? Any
side effects I should weigh when making a choice (I've never given it,
and never heard of a case other than the imported cat.)
Angie
