Well, it wasn't me that brought up possums to start with, but seems that
others have documented possum carriers here... It isn't just rodents that
carry rabies--bats, skunks, cats, dogs, horses, cows, and people are not
rodents, either, but all are susceptible to and can pass on rabies. I
personally don't know of ANY mammalian species that cannot get the disease,
and once gotten, can pass it on via saliva...
