Re: threats on a horse
Hi Carla- Your written contract should refer to the Sellers right to sell
the horse. It should have a statement that says that the Seller actually
has the right to sell the described horse, is the legal owner. That Seller,
when he/she bought the horse should have a signed contract with the same
statement. Some contracts go so far as to describe who is responsible for
legal costs when there is a breach in that area. A lien would make me
nervous, too! Before the horse can be repossessed legally by the person
making that threat, there is a lot of paperwork that would need to be
substantiated! I would check my contract and start making phone calls if
i thought this was more than a prank-threat.
