Re Brenderup trailers
Someone asked about tying to a Brenderup trailer recently. I forwarded
the message to a friend of mine who has owned this brand of trailer
before. Here is her reply:
> As a former two time and maybe in the future third time
Brenderup
owner, I
cannot imagine anyone even considering the thought of tying a horse to
the
fasteners for the ramp.
There are two "eyes" on the trailer for tying. One on each side.
Many
times I found that lead ropes were too large to pass thru these eyes,
unless you had the round nylon leads. What I did was get two biothane
straps (heavy duty" and when I got to my destination, I put one on each
"eye" on both sides of the trailer. I then could put my lead rope thru
easily. These "eyes" are also the releases for the breast bar. The
owner
of the trailer should be familiar with this very essential bit of
information. A screwdriver or similar object should always be kept on
hand
in case an excitable animal should get over the breast bar. To release
the
bar, both of these screw eyes have to be undone quickly.>
