My experience is that any connecting strap is attached to the corrugated heel 
strap, not to the cable.  The connecting strap is in back of the fetlock, not 
in front of the hoof.  See my post referring to dog collars as ankle straps 
... attached to the connecting strap .... attached to the heel strap ...  
attached to the horse's pastern  ..... Wouldn't this make a great song??
