They eat horses, don't they??
Here's a good one......
I sometimes ride with freinds at a stable with an arena which is located
about a quarter mile from a park with horse trails. Best of both worlds,
right??
Here there be dragons! In the form of camels!!!!!
Gizmo is a huge, male, one humper. The first time I rode past him with a
group of freinds I was watching my mare very closely. My girlfreind Lori
had told me many horror stories about riders and horses not making it past
the "killer camel" Some people even trailer past there!!!!!!
Rayna did pretty good..... : )
Gizmo came loping down the pasture toward us, Raynas eyes getting larger
with every slow-motion stride.
She turned her head to watch him as he stopped at the fence, so I turned her
toward him to get a better look.
She was just fine with that, moving closer, sniffing, and then.......
The camel made a hungry, horse-eating growling noise.
Poor Rayna skittered all the way across the road, nearly into the ditch on
the other side!
Everyone busted up laughing, Gizmo looked very sorry, and I managed to stay
on.
Lori said Rayna's feet barely touched the ground.
We have been by there several times since, and Rayna doesn't skitter any
more, but she sure watches for that horse eating camel!
