Re: more shoeing questions

Here's my 2 cents as the farrier's wife. We use St. Croix Eventers with
clips. Depending on the terrain,sometimes we will pad. We aren't the big
dogs (yet!). Nelson did shoe quite a few endurance horses (here in
Michigan) last year with those shoes, some with and some without pads, with
or without clips (depends on the horse), some steel and some aluminum.
Rarely a thrown shoe (can't recall any offhand) and in fact, one of our
clients finished the shore to shore last year in these shoes with pads
(lots of sand and some rocks on that trail). Sounds like you have a good
thing going with Kaboot and that knowledgeable professionals concur that
your farrier is doing a good job. I think if it ain't broke, don't fix
it.
