ENTRY INFORMATION
Entry Forms
All riders under the age of 18 must have parent or legal guardian sign releases. Please contact us for these releases if parents or guardians will not be at the ride.
The trails consist of two track (jeep type) roads,
cow trails, and some open meadows. You will ride
through timber, go up and down some narrow trails,
and still have plenty of wide-open vistas to stop and
take a look. Elevation at the ride site is 3,400 feet
with a 1,000 elevation change during the ride. Some of
the trails will have some rock, but certainly not enough
to worry about. Padding is not necessary. Water on the
trail will be every 3-4 miles, most of which is trucked in,
and there should also be plenty of grass to graze along
the trail.
Our base camp is HUGE! We are equipped with an ample
supply of horse water. Please plan on bringing in your
own people water, though you will be able to refill if
needed. Porta Johns/Outhouses will be provided. There are
no electricity hook-ups.
FEI Pre-Registration is due by June 1. It is not required that you pay by this date, but we would like to have your entry from in to us by that date. We do need to know how many riders to expect so that we can plan for parking, the dinners, and the number of staff people needed to help this run smoothly. We would really like to leave this an open entry ride, but without your help by pre-registering, we may need to require fees up front and close the number of entries in the future.
Veterinary Staff includes: Jim Baldwin, DVM, Ray Randall, DVM, Stephanie Blevins, DVM, Todd Holbrook, DVM, Lynne Pederson, DVM, Tim Graham, DVM, Lance Moxey, DVM, Don Hamilton, DVM, and Dennis Seymore,DVM
Dinners are planned again this year. These are included in the rider's entry fee for each day. Extra meal tickets are available for $10 each. Meals come with all the trimmings, salads, veggies, and dessert. Schedule for meals will be available at this web site closer to the date and at the registration booth.
2. Awards for the AHA Region 6 Championship will include Champion and Reserve and Best Condition for both Purebred Arabians and Partbred Arabians.
See rulebook for Sweepstakes and Top Five awards, as they differ depending on the number of entries.
Limited Distance Limited Distance horses must reach a pulse rate of 60 or below within 30 minutes of completion. They are also required to present to the vet within one hour of reaching the required pulse rate to stand for completion. At the finish, ride time of the competitor continues until the pulse rate of 60 is reached. Finishing time is recorded as the time at which the riders asks for and subsequently meets this preset criteria. There is no marked finish line on the course that is used to determine placing or completion time. Horses may be disqualified if they are not "Fit to Continue."
50/100 Mile Entries - Will be announced at the ride meeting and posted at the registration desk. Horses are required to present to the vet within one hour of reaching the required pulse rate to stand for completion. The horse crossing the finish line will determine finish results. Horses may be disqualified if they are not “Fit To Continue.” Horses standing for best condition (Top Ten finishers) must show within 1 hour of completion. Please remember that Top Ten in the IAHA divisions may differ from the AERC and FEI divisions.
A horse must not receive medical treatment by a vet or layman prior to the final exam. A horse must not require treatment for soundness or metabolic problems. A horse that a ride veterinarian advises should be treated, but treatment is refused by the rider or owner, shall be considered in the same light as a horse that has been treated and disallowed completion.
