MOONLIGHT TRAIL RIDE
AT WILSON CREEK
SATURDAY, AUGUST 17, 2024
WILSON CREEK TRAIL HEAD
Enjoy a 5.5-mile trail ride on the Wilson Creek trails by the light of a
full moon on a warm summer evening.
The $35 entry fee includes a trail marked with LED lights, a "midnight snack"
after the ride, and a special souvenir of the ride.
Registration begins at 7:30 p.m. Riders can start anytime between 8:30 p.m.
and 10 p.m.
The moon will rise at 8:03 p.m., and the sun will set at 8:46 p.m. The moon will
be 93% full. So, you can choose to ride in the dusk or the dark. The trails are sandy, and shoes are optional.
Bring your own water and your own horse or mule (we do not provide them).
Due to the extreme record-breaking heat that is forecast for July 20, we decided to postpone the Moonlight Trail Ride at Wilson Creek until Saturday, August 17. Hoping for cooler temperatures then.
Pre-register for the ride
here and then pay at the
ride (cash or check only). No need to re-register if you registered for
the July 20 ride.
Pre-registration will save time on the evening of the ride.
Pre-registrants will
receive additional information and last-minute updates via email.
No penalties for no-shows.
The ride is approximately 45 miles southwest of Boise.
