Re: Barn Clogs

Just a piece of advice for those of you who may be wearing these things in
the barn...don't! You may have seen them in the catalogs (Ariat, Dansko,
etc.) They are terribly convenient to slip on after riding or just doing
chores around the barn or if you "just have that one little thing you need
to do for the horses on your way home from work." But, last night, just 30
hours after my horses arrived here from California (and waiting all
summer for my horses to be delivered to a more temperate Texas) I got
knocked down by an energetic horse. The clog came off, Echo stepped on me
big time, and broke one of my foot bones. Now I can't ride for two months!
I promise myself that I will never ever think about going in the barn in
anything less than a boot - not running shoes, or street shoes, or even
rubber mud boots. Boots that lace up tight and have reinforced toes.

p.s. it really is great to have them with me here in Texas tho...
