Ground work
OH boy did thunder and I have fun today! We went for a
really long jog/walk up the road, but we left the
bridle and saddle in the tack room and I got excercise
as well!:) He did great at not spooking at the horse
eaters, like huge branches sticking out, mail boxes,
flapping tarps or flags, and loud engines. (many of
these have been a big scare in the past, but we are
working really hard on things that make eat us) :)
I lunged him for 10 minutes in each direction after we
got back and he seemed pretty loose. The vet is coming
out Nov. 3 to vaccinate and float teeth, plus the
check up, so we are going to see how things are going.
I'm trying to find a good saddle person somewhere
between the oregon coast and central oregon. I really
want to get these looked at. Does anyone know of
anyone near me?
Sam, my other horse, is no where fit for endurance,
but I do a lot of trail on him, and yesterday we went
for a ride. I ponied Thunder off him. They both
stretched out well, and Thunder's getting quite a bit
of socialization, a BIG factor I think in his spooks.
Take care all!
