With that thought in mind, I make it a point not to carry anything solid
on my back. I have a bellypack for hard stuff, and my camelback has a big
soft water bladder for me to land on. <BG> I think maybe the waistpacks
with water bottle holders under the arms might be okay, but I think
carrying anything at all solid on your spine is just asking for trouble,
as you found out! It's a good thing to remind people about.
Speaking of water bottles, does anyone know of a good water bottle holder
style for the Desoto saddle? I absolutely LUV this saddle, just got it 2
weeks ago, but none of my water bottle holders will go anywhere on the
front without either hitting my knee or banging Lakota in the shoulder.
I don't use a BC here in the swamplands, so there's nothing else in front
to attach one to.
