Re: shoe pads
Leaving the pads on doesn't hurt a thing. Assuming they are on correctly
to begin with. We have successfully used pads for several shoeings (using
silicone underneath) without any problems of thrush or even lameness after
they came off. Now some ouchy horses may be lame if they need pads to NOT
be ouchy. We were using wedge pads to help gain some angle. You are right
that it would be harder on the feet to put them on and take them off right
away....best to leave it alone unless there is a problem.
