I put Slypners on our 17-year old gelding this year, liked the effect they
had on his slightly arthritic front coffin bones ( immediately less ouchy)
Starz actually took to sort of "boinging" in the vet line trot
outs....drawbacks include expense, my farrier hates them because he thinks
they are ugly and hard to fit correctly (if you shape them too much they
won't clamp onto the little rubber inserts) and also you have to carry all
your own back-up shoeing supplies--right down to the special sly-pner
nails....So that's my take on it...
