The IAHA event insurance cost ( last year) $45 per event day and covers the
event for one move in day and one "tear down" day at no additional charge.
For an additional $23 fee, all event volunteers are also covered, including
travel to and from the event. Spectators are not covered, event management
is covered from lawsuits filed by spectators though. Here's the kicker, the
event must be sanctioned by IAHA and results must also be reported to IAHA
in a specified time period or you pay a penalty.
The $1,000,000 personal excess liability insurance that comes with IAHA
membership is different, this covers the member in the event of a lawsuit
resulting from a horse related accident, which is one great deal when you
remember that our dues only went up $5 per year to pay for the insurance.
(you don't have to own an Arabian either, just be a member of IAHA)
