<~~Scared of Horses...:'o(

OH MY GOD!  I just realized today I am scared of horses and I'm afraid to get 
on my lease horse.  I won't walk infront of him even though every one does 
and hes totally fine and I won't walk behind him, even though hes fine.  I 
won't take him in trails or on the track even though he is fine with it, I 
keep him in the arena and never go past a trot. Even then I'm very scared.  I 
have never had a bad experience on them BUT my mom has drilled into my head 
since I was 6 that horses can kill you and they are very dangerous.  (She was 
dragged, kicked and trampled by one, almost killed.)
       HELP!  I LOVE horses and don't ever want to lose interest in it and I 
do love my lease horse and I am determined to get past this, some one please 
tell me how.
