Okay, with all this talk about white hairs appearing on chestnuts, I'm interested in hearing comments on my horse. I bought this horse in June, he is an 11 yo gelding, dark bay. His dam was a paint National Show Horse, sire a solid Arab. He does have a white spot under the saddle from an old saddle fit problem. That much I can recognize. In addition to that he has one small white spot on the side of his rump. On one side of his body, the shoulder and rib cage have white hairs lightly sprinkled throughout. For added interest, he has a silver dollar sized *dark* spot on his cheek, and another on his rump. The dark spots are on the opposite side from the white speckling. Any comments on this being due to genetics or environment? Will he continue to speckle?
