Lori - I've seen those white hairs a lot on chestnut horses. Until your
email, I thought it was just something to do with Arabs. Also, I've
only seen the white hairs on the more orangy colored chestnuts (not the
dark, liver chestnuts) but that might not mean they don't get them.
Also, the chestnuts I've seen with the white hairs all have had high
white & lots of white on their faces. Don't know the why of it, just
that this is what I've seen. I'm not sure it's an indicator of a
problem with gear in any way. Maybe an extreme sensitivity to
pressure? But on the horses I've seen with this white business, none
have had any pain or bad effects. Lif
