I prefer the Pathfinder because it gives you more adjustment options and so
a better fit. Some horses need the noseband portion lengthened such that
the bit could then be hanging too loose in the mouth. Also, if you want too
change bits; i.e. say a snaffle to a Pelham you'll find they hang
differently in the mouth and you'll need to make adjustments in the
headstall.
I much prefer riding in rope reins with brass hardward, which can be
purchased from Oregon Reins. Contact me if you want a phone #. Do not get
the reins with scissor snaps--they break too readily.
