That statement puzzled me, too.  In fact, when Trilby was National Champion, 
and showed that it could be done by riding more miles and not just winning 
(although she ran up front some, too), she really backed up how versatile our 
old system was.  I felt that the scrapping of the system was a knee-jerk 
response to her winning it, which was one more thing that I thought was wrong 
about scrapping it.
