Well...my knee surgery had been wonderful, then suddenly today I've got
major pain behind the kneecap when I lower myself down to sit in the
saddle.  Can post like ninety with no pressure on it, but as he slows and
I have to come to a stop, then sit...OUCH!  Anybody else had that happen?
 

The rest of this post relates to the "older horses have mind lapses too"
posts.  We had been doing speed work, really tearing up the trail,
crossed a few fields and then pulled down to a walk for some gravel. Once
he dropped his head to walk over the rocks I pulled my foot out of the
stirrups and straightened my leg as far as I could straight out to the
side to try to relieve the pain.  Kaboot suddenly glimpsed it out of the
corner of his eye and leaped STRAIGHT UP with all four legs, then kicked
out HARD with the right rear on that side.   Fun to ride when you've
already got one leg airborn.  I think he really thought an Arab-Hawk had
swooped down to grab him. The fun just never ends.
